Two heart event[]
| Day | Any |
| Time of day | 12:00– |
| Start location | Hillside Manor |
| Event summary | Walter tells the player he is lonely, and decides to participate in the community more. |
- (Walter is sitting in his bedroom. Player walks in and greets him, and he stands up to face them)
- Walter:Oh, player. It’s you. Thanks for stopping by.
You’re one of the few people who do, it seems.
- (Walter walks to the window and looks out)
- Walter:Back in Pokyo, I was something of a big shot. Did you know that?
Big-City lawyer, that was me. Contracts, collections, litigation.
People booked months in advance for five minutes of my time.
- (Walter turns to look at the player)
- Walter:But out here? I guess we just don’t see as many people as we used to.
We have dinner parties, of course. We’re not heathens.
I’ve seen you at them, right?
- Player:I don’t remember being invited to a dinner party.
- Walter:No, I’m sure I saw you. Ben fell right into the cake, remember?
And Scott belted out his entire college fight song in that terrible voice of his, even after we begged him not to. It was a laugh riot!
Doesn’t ring a bell? Well, you didn’t miss much.
- Player:Sure. All those dinner parties I totally remember going to.
- Walter:Right! Talk of the town, I have no doubt.
- Walter:It’s just that, well, after the parties are over, nobody seems to want to keep in touch of their own accord.
You know, just to check in, see how we’re doing, maybe catch a game or something.
I have all the sports channels, you know. Seventy-seven-inch plasma TV, surround sound.
When you watch a game, you can practically smell the peanuts!
But Bree doesn’t go in for that sort of thing, and Luke’s busy in his shop, and…
- (Walter sighs)
- Walter:You’re going to make me say it, aren’t you? That’s okay.
I’m lonely, Player.
I just don’t feel like I’m part of the community here.
- Walter:But I’m nothing if not a man of action! This is a problem that’s easily solved.
I just need to participate more in community events, that’s all.
First stop, the Tavern! Always a good place ot catch up with all the latest local goings-on.
- (Walter walks past the player, then stops and turns around)
- Walter:You can see yourself out, right?
Right. Thanks for stopping by!
Four heart event[]
| Day | Any |
| Time of day | 17:00– |
| Start location | Fishensips |
| Event summary | Walter invites the player to Trivia Night at the tavern. |
The event starts as the player enters Fishensips. Charles and Walter are sitting at a table.
- (Walter stands up as he sees the player.)
- Walter:Player! Did you come for trivia night, too?
Join us!
- (The player walks up to Walter and Charles. )
- Walter:Did you know Charles here is not only a doctor, but a wine lover too?
- Charles:No, I actually don’t care for–
- Walter:Oh, pishposh!
Everyone’s a wine lover once they get a taste of a delightful Hillside vintage!
Isn’t that right, player?
- Player:It sure is!
- Walter:See? I knew you were a person of good taste!
- Player:I actually don’t like wine either.
- Walter:Fortunately, we have a wide selection of ales as well.
Something for everyone.
- Charles:Anyway, Mr. Duckorns–
- Walter:Please, call me Walter.
- Charles:Walter, I’m not here for trivia night.
I was actually just about to go to work.
I have rounds tonight.
- Walter:You bet you have rounds tonight!
And I’m buying!
- Charles:No. I mean I have patients to see.
- Walter:Oh. Yes, of course.
Next time then.
- (Charles gets out of his chair.)
- Charles:Enjoy.
- (Charles turns to the player.)
- Charles:See you around, player.
- (The player nods, and Charles leaves.)
- Walter:Well, looks like it’s just you and me, player.
Are we even gonna start the trivia night, Noah?
What’s the holdup? Time is money after all.
- (Noah walks in from offscreen.)
- Noah:Trivia night was last night, Walter!
I told you when you walked in. I told you again when you sat down.
I also told you earlier, when you tried to rally the other customers to join your team.
And I’ll tell you again for the last time, Walter, the game was last night!
- Walter:Wait… So, what are you saying, exactly?
- ( Noah sighs deeply.)
- Noah:'Last' night, Walter.
- (Noah leaves. Walter turns to the player.)
- Walter:Player, there seem to be some technical difficulties with trivia night.
But that’s okay. There’s plenty more this island has to offer.

| Start location | Hillside Brewery and Vineyard |
| Event summary | Walter resigns himself to being disliked by the entire town. Bree talks some sense into him. |
The event starts as the player approaches the Hillside Brewery and Vineyard.
- (Walter is sitting on a stool outside the mansion, looking down sadly. The player approaches and greets him.)
- Walter:Thanks for coming, player. It's been quiet here. It's been quiet ever since I found out the town doesn't want me around.
- Player:It's not that bad, is it?
- Walter:Bad enough that I haven't left this spot since you last saw me.
- Player:Of course people want you around!
- Walter:All appearance to the contrary, eh?
- (Walter sighs heavily. Bree walks out of the mansions and listens on the stairs.)
- Walter:I'd better face the facts. My only company on this island are my grapes.
- Bree:And your wife!
- Walter:Yes, of course.
- (Bree walks to stand next to Walter.)
- Bree:And you're wrong, Walt.
- Walter:You're a dear, but the facts clearly indicate--
- Bree:Indicate shmindicate. Come on inside, I want to show you something. You too, player.
- Walter:If this is another one of your avant garde art pieces, I'm really not in the mood...
- Bree:Just come!
- (Walter stands up and the three walk into the mansion. It's completely dark inside.)
- Walter:Dear? What's--
- (The lights turn on and the townies are there. They all shout "surprise!")
- Walter:What...what's all this? What's going on?
- Bree:Just a little party to show you how much you're appreciated, honey.
- Luke:Yeah Dad, people love you in this town! The Vineyard is an institution, and everyone is really proud to have you here. They miss you!
- Walter:They...they do?
- Noah:That's why we're here, Walter. You're a great customer and a great friend. Just try to remember when Trivia night is, okay?
- Leah:And remember to be a little more flexible about trying new things!
- Walter:This...this is amazing. I don't know what to say. Thank you, every--
- Anne:And keep your hands off my husband!
- (Everyone turns to stare at Anne.)
- Anne:...It makes sense in context.
- (Luke turns back to Walter.)
- Luke:Cheers for my dad!
- (Everyone joins in clapping and cheering.)
- Walter:Bree, how in the world did you manage to get all this together without me noticing?
- Bree:You've been out back on that stool all day. Wasn't too hard.
- Walter:Thank you, everyone. You have no idea how much this means to me. I finally feel like I'm part of the community I've come to love so much. This means the world. And if anyone wants to come over to watch a game sometime, I have a 70-inch plasma screen TV.
- (Everyone cheers. The event ends.)
