The event starts when the player arrives at Raja's Coffee Corner.

 Raj:

Player! Great to see you. What do you want to drink?

  Player:

Coffee.

 Raj:

One coffee, coming right up.

  Player:

Hot chocolate.

 Raj:

One hot cocoa, coming right up.

  Player:

Tea.

 Raj:

One tea, coming right up.

(Raj gives the player what they ordered.)

 Raj:

Don't worry about it.

 Raj:

It's on the house today.

  Player:

Thank you! That's so nice.

 Raj:

You're very welcome! I need to let my regular customers know I appreciate them, right?

  Player:

Oh no, I can't accept that.

 Raj:

You can, and you will! It's just a little token of my thanks for being such a great customer.

(The player stars drinking and likes it.)

 Raj:

To tell you the truth...the business' a little slow.

 Raj:

I'm sort of worried. Sometimes I feel like I'm in way over my hear here.

  Player:

You're doing a great job with the coffee stand.

 Raj:

Well, thanks... That makes me feel good.
But if you saw my bank account you might not say that!

  Player:

I know what you mean.

 Raj:

Yeah!

(Raj walks up to the player.)

 Raj:

Just between us, I'm making enough money to stay in business, but just barely.
How will I ever expand and be successful if I'm barely covering my expenses?

(Raj waves good bye to Anne and Paul.)

 Raj:

Have a nice day! Thanks for coming to Raja's!

(Raj walks to the table and cleans it.)

 Raj:

Mayor Connor invited me to join the Starlet Town Chamber of Commerce.
Do you think I should join?

  Player:

What's that?

 Raj:

It's a group of business owners who meet once a month at the community center. I don't think my business is big enough, though.

  Player:

That's a great idea!

 Raj:

A chamber of commerce can be a great resource for small businesses.

 Raj:

I figure if I join I can ask for advice.

(Raj and the player walk to the counter.)

 Raj:

If Raja's is going to grow, I need to start taking this stuff more seriously. I'll join the chamber of commerce!

 Raj:

Here, let me get you some refill before you go.

(Raj starts refilling the player's mug.)

 Raj:

But... Umm... In the interest of taking my business more seriously, I think I need to charge you for this one...

The player and Raj walk into the Mayor’s Office inside the Community Center. Other townies are seated in front of the podium, while Mayor Connor is standing off to the side.

 Raj:

Thanks for coming with me to my first Chamber of Commerce meeting, player.

 Raj:

I don’t know what I’m so nervous! I sell coffee to these people every day. But I’m worried they’ll see through me…
They’ll know I’m not a real business owner like they are.

  Player:

Don’t think like that! You’re just as legit as they are.

 Raj:

If you say so…

  Player:

Well… You can probably learn a lot from them.

 Raj:

I know! That’s why I’m here, to learn from the experts. I’m going to take lots of notes.

  Player:

Let’s bounce!

 Raj:

No!

(Connor walks to the podium.)

 Connor:

Good evening! Let’s get this meeting started. For our first order of business, I’d like to welcome the newest member of the Starlet Town Chamber of Commerce:
Raj of Raja’s Coffee Corner.

(Raj waves to everyone.)

 Raj:

Uh… Hi everyone.

 Connor:

Raj, why don’t you come up to the podium and tell us a bit about yourself and your goals.

 Raj:

 Connor:

Go on!

(Raj walks up to the podium.)

 Raj:

Hi everyone. I know a lot of you already. I have this…um…a little coffee stand outside Fishensips.

 Connor:

Raja’s Coffee! It’s a wonderful addition to our business district. I get my caffeine fix there every morning.

 Raj:

Thanks, Connor.
I work hard, and I’m trying to make the cofee stand a success, but I’m having trouble growing my business.
Do any of you have pointers for me?

 Connor:

Hmm… This sounds worthy of discussion. The floor is open for anyone who wants to speak.

(Antonio stands up.)

 Antonio:

I’ll tell you what’s worked for my clothing store, White Flamingo… You have to spend money to make money. It’s the only way to grow!

 Raj:

Oh… But what fi I don’t have a lot of money to spend?

 Antonio:

Doesn’t matter. Take out a loan if you have to! If you’re afraid to take risks, you’ll never succeed.

(Sunny stands up, and looks at Antonio.)

 Sunny:

NOW. I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU THERE, ANTONIO. SOMETIMES WE JUST HAVE TO BE CREATIVE WITH WHAT WE’VE GOT.
TAKE THE BEACH SHACK, FOR EXAMPLE. THE WAY I KEEP PEOPLE COMIGN BACK IS BY GETTING CREATIVE WITH THE MENU.

(Raj takes out a notebook and starts writing down.)

 Connor:

Can you give us an example, Sunny?

 Sunny:

EACH SEASON WE OFFER A NEW FISH SPECIAL. PAN-FRIED BLUEGILL IN THE SUMMER, LIME-ROASTED ARAPAIMA IN THE FALL, BAKED LOBSTER TAIL IN THE SPRING.
YOU WANT TO SURPRISE YOUR CUSTOMERS, RAJ.
GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO WITH EACH VISIT.

(Raj nods.)

 Raj:

Surprise your customers… Baked lobster tail…

(Emma stands up.)

 Emma:

I think you’re on the right track, Sunny, but some customers are afraid to try new things. You have to ease them into it.
That’s why I like giving out free samples at the taco truck. Let people try before they buy.
If they like it, they’ll be back!

(Luke stands up.)

 Luke:

We do that at Socket. We let customers try out any gadget they want. Nine times out of ten, they end up buying something.

 Raj:

But I don’t sell gadgets. I sell coffee.

 Luke:

Hmm… How about free Wi-Fi, then? Let them play with their gadgets while they’re drinking your coffee!

 Connor:

These are terrific ideas. Raj, does this give you enough to go on?

 Raj:

Yes! Thank you all.

 Connor:

Excellent! Now, on to our next order of business…

(Sam stands up.)

 Sam:

Event summary	After getting the flyer, the player visits Raj's coffee shop that is now full of customers.

Event opens when the player walks near Raja’s Coffee Corner. At the counter, Connor, Emily, Randy, Chaem and Wakuu are forming a long queue.

 Wakuu:

I’ve never seen so many people here before!

 Chaem:

Dude, you’re just mad ‘cause this place isn’t your little secret anymore. Raj has hit the big time!

 Raj:

Sorry for the wait, everyone! The dragon coffee needs another minute to brew. I’ll be with you all shortly.

 Emily:

This better be worth it.

 Chaem:

We got a flyer in the mail saying that Raj is serving some fancy new coffee. I guess everyone on Coral Island got the same flyer!

(Emily and Randy turn to Wakuu and Chaem.)

 Emily:

Wow… Printing up those flyers and mailing one to everyone on Coral Island, Raj, must have spent a fortune on advertising…

(Emily and Randy turn back to the face the counter.)

 Chaem:

What is Dragon blend, anyway? You’re a scientist. Got any answers?

 Wakuu:

It’s a rare blend coming only from savannah area…picked by special cows.

 Chaem:

What does that have to do with coffee…?

 Wakuu:

I don’t know, but it’s delicious! Goes great with muffin. I had it one time in San Franciskyo.

 Raj:

Okay, Connor, what can I get you?

(The player walks closer to the front of the shop.)

 Connor:

One cup of dragon blend coffee, please.

 Raj:

Here you go, Mayor. That’ll be 850 coins.

 Connor:

Oh my…That’s a little more than I expected. let me just check my wallet…

(Connor pays for the coffee and steps aside. Raj comes out from the counter and walks over to the player, with the barista taking over at the shop.)

 Raj:

I took Antonio’s advice: spend money to make money. I spent every coin I could scrape together, but it’s going to pay off.
I guess advertising really works!

(Raj and the player turn to watch the shop.)

 Emily:

One Gesha coffee, please.

 Barista:

Coming right up. That’ll be 850 coins.

 Emily:

850 coins! That’s outrageous!

 Randy:

Did you say 850 coins? I’m not paying that much for coffee!

 Chaem:

Dude, 850 coins? Whoa! I don’t think I have 850 on me right now. I need to call my accountant and move around some money.

 Wakuu:

I’ll get it. You can pay me later.

 Chaem:

Heh heh heh!

 Raj:

Wait! I know it’s pricey, but there’s a good reason.

 Emily:

Let’s hear it, then.

 Chaem:

Get out of here! 850?!

 Raj:

Dragon coffee costs a lot, but it’s totally worth it!
See, these cows…living in a savannah, eat the coffee beans, and their stomach enzymes do something amazing to the beans that competely changes the taste…
The beans move around four different stomachs! So then they spit out the half-digested coffee beans…

 Chaem:

Dude, did you say SPIT? This is cow spit coffee?
I’m paying 1000 coins to drink a cup of spit? YUCK!

 Wakuu:

It’s 850…and you’re not paying anything.

 Chaem:

Still. That’s wild.

 Emily:

850 for a cup!

 Connor:

Oh, um… I’m not feeling so well…

 Raj:

No, wait! The farmers clean off the beans… It’s perfectly sanitary…

 Randy:

I’m not in the mood for coffee anymore.

(The queue scatters and people leave, except for Wakuu.)

 Raj:

It’s good, I promise…

  Player:

Maybe the people of Coral Island aren’t quite ready for cow spit… I mean…premium blend Dragon coffee.

(Raj turns to the player.)

 Raj:

(Wakuu walks up to Raj and the player.)

 Wakuu:

Event summary	Raj's customers see their "creative" (unappealing) menu names and they leave due to loss of appetite.

The event begins when the area enters the area near Raja's Coffee Corner. Raj is attending their coffee shop. In front of the counter, Mark, Erika and Aaliyah are forming a queue.

 Raj:

Hello, everyone! Thanks for coming to Raja’s on the first day of our new menu. I hope you enjoy my new seasonal drinks!

(The player joins the back of the queue, and it moves forward.)

 Raj:

Hello Mark! Our new items are on the menu board, there. What would you like?

(Mark pauses while inspecting the menu)

 Mark:

Um… I changed my mind.

(Raj is confused as Mark leaves and the queue moves forward.)

 Raj:

Welcome to Raja’s, Erika. What can I get you?

(Erika pauses while inspecting the menu.)

 Erika:

Ugh… You know what? I forgot my wallet.

(Erika leaves the queue, nauseated. Aaliyah moves to the counter.)

 Raj:

Hi Aaliyah. What looks good on the menu?

(Aaliyah pauses to inspect the menu.)

 Aaliyah:

Nothing. Um, I mean… Sorry, nothing for me today.

(Raj is angered as Aaliyah leaves and the player moves to the counter.)

 Raj:

Well, Player? Are you going to buy something?

(The player reads the menu.)

  Player:

Lobster Tail Latte, Squid Ink Espresso, Carp Cappucino, Seafood Smoothie…

(The player is disgusted.)

 Raj:

I don’t understand it. I followed Sunny’s advice and got creative with the menu…

(Raj is sad.)

Seven heart event

There is a long line of customers at Raja’s Coffee corner.

  Player:

What’s going on? It looks like the entire population of Coral Island is here buying coffee...

 Raj:

Hi Suki. Just a minute.

 Suki:

Can I get a cup for Alice, too?

 Raj:

Sure, one minute.

(As Suki leaves with her cup of coffee, Raj notices the player.)

 Raj:

Hey Player!

  Player:

You’re giving out free samples?

 Raj:

Yeah. Emma was right! Look at this crowd!

  Player:

So you took Emma’s advice?

 Raj:

Yep, and she was right! Free samples really work!

 Pablo:

I’ll take one for me and one for Rafael.

 Raj:

Sure, coming right up.

(Pablo leaves with his cup of coffee.)

 Raj:

Sorry, Player, no time to chat! If you want coffee you’ll have to get in line.

(Half an hour later...)

 Millie:

One coffee, please.

 Raj:

Sure, coming right up.

 Millie:

I hope it was worth the wait.

(Raj turns to the coffee machine, but realizes that they’re out of ingredients.)

 Raj:

Um... I’m out of coffee.

 Millie:

No coffee?

 Joko:

They’re out of coffee?

 Charles:

But what about my free sample?!

 Raj:

Sorry, folks! I’m going to have to close for the day. I’m all out of coffee!

(Millie, Joko, and Charles walk away, deflated.)

 Raj:

I’m exhausted, Player. I’ve been busy all day. I haven’t even had a chance to catch my breath!
And the worst part is, I didn’t even make any money today. I gave away all my coffee!

(The player tries to console Raj, patting their shoulder.)

Yeah. I took Luke's aadvice to offer free Wi-Fi and it's a big hit.

But...

  Player:

That's good, isn't it? Something finally worked!

 Raj:

I guess...

  Player:

But what?

 Raj:

(Erika, Macy, and Eva walk up and start chatting.)

 Eva:

It's so good to see you two! I can't wait to hear all the gossip!

 Macy:

(The three look around and notice the filled seats.)

Hmm... Kind of crowded.

 Macy:

Let's go to Fishensips instead?

 Eva:

Good idea!

(The three leave and Raj gets upset.)

 Raj:

It's been like this ever since I got the free Wi-Fi. People Buy one small drink and they sit here using the internet all day. It's ruining my Business!

  Player:

Why don't you ask them to leave?

 Raj:

  Player:

Yeah, no. This isn't the way.

 Raj:

This is hard.

 Raj:

Anyway. Can I get you something?

  Player:

Coffee.

 Raj:

One coffee, coming right up.

  Player:

Hot chocolate.

 Raj:

  Player:

 Raj:

(Raj makes the Players drink)

 Raj:

(The Player turns and cannot find a place to sit)

 Raj:

  Player:

Um...I guess i'll take this to go.

 Raj:

(The player leaves and Raj is sad.)

Event summary	Raj realizes this isn't what they want for Raja

The event starts when the player walks up to Raja's Coffee Corner.

 Raj:

Oh, hi. What'll it be?

(The Player takes a moment to decide and Raj prepares the drink. He hands it over to the Player dejectedly.)

 Raj:

Don't bother. I'm going out of business.

  Player:

What?! What are you talking about?

 Raj:

I tried, Player. I really tried to make this place a success. But I just ended up wasting a lot of money and upsetting a lot of people.

  Player:

Oh no. None of the suggestions worked?

 Raj:

 Raj:

If the coffee shop never gets any bigger... If it's always just this little place...

(Raj leans on the counter sadly)

 Raj:

What's the point of staying open?

  Player:

People like your coffee.

 Raj:

  Player:

So what? Why can't Raja's just be that?

 Raj:

Yeah...

 Raj:

That's what I always wanted Raja's to be... A place where people could come and I'd always know their name and what they like to drink.
But I guess I lost sight of that along the way

(Raj stands up excitedly.)

 Raj:

You know what, Player? You're right! I've been so focused on making Raja's into something it ISN'T, I totally forgot what it IS!

(Raj runs past the counter and starts calling people over.)

 Raj:

Hey everyone, bring your cups to the counter! Free refills on me!

(Everyone looks up and walks over to the counter, chatting together excitedly)

 Raj:

I hope it isn't too early for you.

  Player:

*Yawn*

 Raj:

I hope this isn't a bad time.

 Raj:

You know, Player, you've been great to me. So I'd like to take you out on a date.

(The player is a bit confused.)

 Raj:

Well, you don't have to answer right now. But if you're cool with it, I'll be at the tavern tonight at 6PM.

(The player agrees, Raj leaves but looks back.)

 Raj:

You look good, Player.

Part two

Event summary	The player and Raj have a date at Fishensips

The event starts when the player approaches Fishensips. Raj is sitting at the bar talking to Frank. He stands when the player approaches.

 Raj:

You look stunning, as usual!

(The player smiles)

(Raj and the player have an animated chat next to the bar, laughing together)

 Frank:

What can I get you lovebirds tonight?

(Raj and the player turn to look at Frank.)

 Frank:

Water for now?

(The player nods)

(Raj and the player approach the dance floor and watch the other couples dancing before deciding to join in.)

(The other couples leave and Raj and the player slow dance alone.)

(Raj and the player return to the bar.)

 Raj:

Player, I've been wanting to tell you something.

 Raj:

I have feelings for you...and it's more than just friendship.

 Raj:

I've fallen in love with you, Player...

  Player:

I feel the same way about you...

 Raj:

I'm about to kiss you... I hope that's okay with you...

I’ve been thinking about something lately.
I’ve been dreaming of learning how to fish.
There’s something peaceful about the idea of standing by the water, casting a line, and just waiting for a bite. It seems... calming.
Funny enough, I don’t even like fish — but maybe if I catch one myself, I’ll finally come around.

  Player:

Fishing sounds like a good idea. It might be just what you need.

 Raj:

Yep! I’ve been feeling like something’s missing lately, like I’m stuck in a routine.
Maybe fishing is the break I need to clear my mind.

  Player:

You might not catch anything, but you’ll get some peace and quiet.

 Raj:

That’s true. It’s not really about the fish, is it?
Honestly, I’d be fine if I didn’t catch anything at all. The quiet... that’s the part that appeals to me the most.
I think I need more of that in my life.

  Player:

Given your luck with money, those fish are probably safe!

 Raj:

You got me there!
I might not catch a thing, but hey, it would still be an adventure.

 Raj:

Still, it’s funny. The more I think about it, the more I realize it’s not about catching fish at all.
It’s about taking a step back from everything and finding some clarity.

  Player:

You deserve a break, Raj.

 Raj:

You really think so?
It’s hard sometimes, feeling like you’re constantly running uphill.
But hearing that... it makes me feel a little better.
Maybe I do need to take a step back.

  Player:

Even a small escape like fishing can make a big difference.

 Raj:

Yeah... exactly. It doesn’t have to be some grand gesture, does it?
Just standing by the water, taking in the quiet... that sounds like all I need right now.

  Player:

Fishing might not solve your problems, but it’ll help you breathe.

 Raj:

That’s a good way to put it.
Maybe that’s what I need more than anything — a little room to breathe.

 Raj:

So, what do you like to do in your spare time, Player?

  Player:

I enjoy reading. It’s a great way to escape.

 Raj:

I can see the appeal. Getting lost in a good book... it’s like stepping into another world.
Maybe I should pick up a few books myself.

  Player:

I spend a lot of time farming.

 Raj:

Well, duh! You’re a farmer! What did I expect?

  Player:

Mostly, I try not to spend all my money on your coffee shop!

 Raj:

Touché! But hey, if you ever run out of funds, I might just starting accepting IOUs!

 Raj:

I like you, Player. You seem cool!
Okay, enough flattery, let’s go back to this whole fishing thing.
There’s just one tiny problem... I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.
I mean, I get the general idea — cast a line, wait for a fish to bite, right?
But the more I think about it, the more I realize there’s probably a bit more to it than that.
Like, where do even you get the bait?
So, I thought... maybe you could help me?
You’ve got experience with this sort of thing, right?
I could really use a few pointers before I make a complete fool of myself at the lake.

  Player:

I’d be happy to teach you the basics. It’s really not that hard.

 Raj:

Thank you!
I’ve been reading about it, but there’s only so much you can learn from a book, you know?

  Player:

First thing you need to know is that fishing takes patience. Lots of it.

 Raj:

I think I can handle that. I just hope the fish are as patient with me as I’ll try to be with them.

  Player:

First tip: Whatever you do, don’t fall in the lake. Trust me.

 Raj:

Noted! Falling into the lake is officially off the to-do list.

 Raj:

Maybe with your help, I’ll actually manage to catch something.
Who knows, maybe I’ve got a hidden talent for fishing!
So tell me, where do you even get the bait?

  Player:

You can get it from the beach shack. They sell everything you’ll need.

 Raj:

Ah, that makes sense! I’ll talk to Sunny and pick up whatever he recommends for a beginner like me.
At least I won’t have to dig through the lake for worms.

  Player:

You can actually dig for bugs yourself. Nature provides the best bait!

 Raj:

Wait, seriously? Just dig them up?
I think I’ll see if Sunny has some for me to buy.

  Player:

Bait? Oh, I just charm the fish. No bait needed!

 Raj:

Ha! Now there’s a technique I could get behind!

 Raj:

So, we’ve got the bait down. What should I worry about next?

  Player:

Your beard! Make sure to oil it, or the wind will have it looking unruly.

 Raj:

Good point!

  Player:

Do you even have a fishing rod?

 Raj:

Yep, Captain Wataru gave me his old one. I’ll just use that, save some money.

  Player:

Bring coffee! It’s going to be a long day.

 Raj:

Yes! There’s no way I’m heading out there without a thermos full of my best brew.

 Raj:

Alright, we’ve got the bait, we’ve got everything else... I think I’m ready to head out and fish sometime this week.
You’ve really given me something to look forward to.
It’s been a while since I’ve felt excited about something like this. It feels awesome!

Summary	Raj shares their experience after trying fishing for the first time.

 Raj:

So, guess what? I finally went fishing down at the pier! And... it was quite the experience.
I actually caught a few fish — salmon, I think?
At least I thought they were salmon.
Is it even salmon season? Maybe it wasn’t salmon at all. I’m still not sure!
But hey, I had a lot of fun out there. It was nice, being by the water, just waiting for that little tug on the line.
Even though I somehow managed to get sunburnt... which I wasn’t expecting at all.
Yeah, I definitely didn’t plan for that. I came back looking like a lobster instead of a fisher.
But the real kicker? Even after catching those fish, I still didn’t want to eat them.
I brought them back to the inn, stared at them, and nope. I put my hands up — I couldn’t do it.
I don’t think fishing is for me after all.

  Player:

At least you had fun! That’s the important part.

 Raj:

Yeah, you’re right. I had a blast, sunburn and all.

  Player:

Wait... you’re not even sure if it was salmon?

 Raj:

What difference does it make anyway? Ha ha ha!

  Player:

So... sunburn and fish you don’t want to eat. Sounds like quite the adventure!

 Raj:

Yeah, it was an adventure, alright!
Who knew fishing could be so complicated? Between the sunburn and the questionable fish, I learned a lot.

 Raj:

So, tell me, Player. Where do you usually fish?

  Player:

There’s a quiet lake not far from here. It’s a great place to fish.

 Raj:

Oh, yes! The lake!

  Player:

The riverbank near the school is great for fishing. The current brings in a lot of fish.

 Raj:

Oh, yes! The lake!

  Player:

I came across an old picture of me and my parents this morning. I must’ve been six or seven years old.
I don’t remember when it was taken, but I remember the feeling. I could feel it, you know? I remember feeling confused about who I was... even then.
It wasn’t always easy for me to understand my identity.
For the longest time, I thought there was something wrong with me.
I didn’t quite fit in anywhere, and it was... confusing.

What helped you realize you were nonbinary?

 Raj:

It wasn’t one single thing. It was more like... a lot of little moments adding up.
There were times when I didn’t feel comfortable with the labels people tried to put on me.
Then, I started learning more about gender and realized... I didn’t have to fit into those boxes.
When I found the term ‘nonbinary,’ it just clicked.

Alright, get ready. So, it started off fine, you know?
We met at the restaurant, things seemed okay... then, halfway through the meal, he starts talking about his pet iguana.
Which, hey, no problem, right? Except he kept calling him his ‘soulmate.’
