Need to note the latest time the player can trigger the event and still attend

The Harvest Festival is the first festival of Fall, taking place on the 15th at Alun-Alun Square, on the east side of the Lake. The celebration begins by interacting with the festival orb in the square after 19:00. On Fall 5th the player will receive a letter:

Starlet Town,
The Harvest Festival is coming up on Fall 15 at 7pm in Alun-Alun Square. Legendary farmer Jeff Smith will be the judge for the harvest display contest. To enter, bring your best products from each of the six following categories:

-Vegetables
-Fruits
-Flowers
-Coop products
-Barn products

-Artisan products

In the morning, one day before the festival, the player will receive:

Starlet Town Residents,
The Harvest Festival is tomorrow at 7pm in Alun-Alun Square. Remember to bring your six best items for the harvest display contest.

Once the festival begins, the in-game clock will stop and the player will be free to socialize with any townies and participate in any activities as much as they like. Players can earn Merit Points for attending the festival and participating in the various minigames. Players will earn a minimum of 40 × 40 for attending the festival, even if they do not participate in the Harvest Display Contest.

Leaving the festival location will bring it to an end, with the player spawning in front of their house at 23:50.

There is a Harvest Festival Booth at the top of the map, adjacent to the Pufferfish booth. Several items (including fertilizer and seeds) are sold at discounted prices.

Harvest Display Contest[]

The player can participate in the Harvest Display contest by placing their farm items in the empty crates at the far right of Alun-Alun Square. The items are not automatically returned at the end of the festival, and the player should remember to collect them before leaving. Players can retrieve their items after the contest by going to the display and selecting "Submit Items" and placing the items back into their Inventory.

The player's Harvest Display is judged by the number of categories the collection of items include, each items' base price, and each items' quality which are all added together to determine the player's final score. This score is then compared to a rival farmer's score for their own display to determine a winner and which prizes they earn. Winning the Harvest Display Contest will earn the player 300 × 300.

Scoring[]

Categories[]

The Display Contest recognizes the six categories mentioned in the Fall 5th invitation letter:

Including items from the different categories awards Diversity Points. Every category represented in the display awards 6 points each, for a maximum of 36 points.

Sell Price and Quality[]

Individual items added to the display are each scored according to their sell price and their quality, from 1 point for a low-value, base quality item to 25 points for an osmium quality item worth at least 400 . The sell price used for judging refers to the price of the specific item at its quality rather than its base price.

Sell Price -
0–99 × 0–99 1 2 3 4 5
100–199 × 100–199 2 4 6 8 10
200–299 × 200–299 3 6 9 12 15
300–399 × 300–399 4 8 12 16 20
400+ × 400+ 5 10 15 20 25

Assuming the player could display 400+ value, osmium-quality products for each of the six categories, the maximum amount of points earned would be 186. In the current version of the game, however, there are no available vegetables worth 300 or more, with the most valuable vegetable being Cauliflower, making the maximum possible score 181.

Note: There is a meter in-game during the festival that displays how many points your display is worth. After you submit your items the 'Competition Reward' meter will show your total display points below in a blue bubble. If unsure, bring all your best items to the event and experiment with arrangements to get the highest score.

Rival Display[]

As part of the competition element of the Harvest Display, the player is pitted against a rival - Bobby, a farmer from Beluga Bay. Every year, Bobby will bring a selection of produce from his own farm to be scored against the same criteria as the player's with the highest scoring farmer being declared the winner.

Bobby's display items are chosen each year at the start of the festival from one of the following sets. Which set is determined by the in-game year, with his highest scoring sets appearing at year three and remaining there for the rest of the game.

Side Activities[]

Apple Bobbing[]

The player can initiate a game of Apple Bobbing at the large washtub to the left of the giant chicken. The goal is to eat as many apples as possible, avoiding rotten apples and their stunning effects. Winning the minigame will earn the player 100 × 100.

There are three competing Townies (Archie, Zoe, Alice) and their scores will vary between games.

The player can also initiate a game of Smashing Pumpkin at the registration desk near the Lake, left of the Alun-Alun Square sign. The goal of this game is to smash as many pumpkins as possible for the maximum amount of points before time runs out. Smashing multiple pumpkins in a row can create combos. Rotten pumpkins should be avoided, as they reduce the player's points and break combos.

There are three competing Townies. Archie holds first place with a score of 200 points, Surya holds second place with a score of 150, and Frank holds last place with 100 points. If the player beats one of these times, the leaderboard order changes. Winning the minigram will earn the player 100 × 100.
