Unspecified reason

Fossils are the valuable bones of ancient creatures that can be found by processing fossil nodes at the Laboratory. Fossils can be donated to the Museum to complete the collection, sold for money, or used for enchanting or gifts.

In addition to being found in fossil nodes, most fossils can also be purchased at the Black Market for an increased price.

Uses

Each fossil can be donated to the museum once for 3 Museum museum points. Completing donation for all 60 fossils will also earn 40 Museum museum points as well as unique reward from museum and Paleontologist Paleontologist. Fossils can be duplicated through slime of replication and can also be sold or gifted; however, they are considered universally hated gifts.

As of v0.3, fossils can also be used as fuel for the enchanting system with certain fossils being worth a set amount of points based on their rarity. A list of all items that can be used for enchanting and their point values can be found on the Enchanting page.

Offering

4 fossils of any type are needed for the Master Slime section of the Guardian Mural altar.

Fossil nodes

Fossil nodes can only be obtained after obtaining Soft Bristle Brush. The nodes can be obtained by tilling sand or soil with a hoe, clearing trash with a scythe while diving, or breaking rocks around the island, underwater or in the cavern with a pickaxe. Identifying the contents of a fossil node costs 20 per piece at the Laboratory.

Note: The game refers to all nodes as 'fossil node.' The names used are pulled from the data for ease of organization, and can be matched by the image used.
