Coral Island is a re-imagined farming sim game set on a tropical island. Grow crops, nurture animals, and befriend the islanders. Decide whether to revitalize not only the town, but also the surrounding coral reefs.
Coral Island is a tropical farming sim game currently under development by Stairway Games, and sets out to distinguish itself from others in the farming sim genre with its attention to diversity and inclusivity, ranging from racial diversity to LGBTQ+ inclusion to the broad amount of available tropical crops that cannot be grown in most farming games. It will also feature exploration, underwater diving, and pollution cleanup activities to revitalize the titular Coral Island and eventually contend with the threat of Pufferfish Drilling Corp, meeting the local Merfolk kingdom, and more.
It was projected to be available on PC starting with the alpha version (sometimes referred to as the 'pre-alpha', though both terms refer to the same thing) as of July 31, 2021, with Early Access beginning in late 2021 and full release happening in late 2022.[1][1][2] This timeline was pushed back, with Early Access releasing on October 11, 2022. According to the roadmap, they "expect this phase to take about one year, but may take longer depending on player feedback." It will become available on Nintendo Switch and other console platforms approximately six months after the game launches on Early Access.[3][4] Games purchased through the Kickstarter will be distributed by download via key codes once the full game is released. After the preferred platform has been selected via Backerkit survey, it cannot be changed later.[5]

Correct rewards listed
Stairway Games launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign after fifteen months in development, which ran from February 1, 2021 until March 3, 2021 and raised over US$1.6 million in support from over 36,000 backers.[3]
The campaign's initial goal of $70,000 was reached in under 36 hours[6] and its stretch goal of $700,000 reached as of February 16, 2021[7] with the help of over 15,000 backers.[3] The final stretch goal of $1,250,000 was reached on February 26, 2021[8] with the help of over 27,000 backers. Statistics regarding the total amount funded or pledges made per day can be found on Kicktraq, a website unaffiliated with Kickstarter, Inc.
The Kickstarter initially listed some tier rewards incorrectly. This was later corrected via informational graphics, as Kickstarter does not allow tier rewards to be edited after campaigns have begun. The chart (image) shown in this section lists the correct quantity of rewards given per pledge tier.
Alpha[]
Alpha access is a critical part of development where Stairway Games can get feedback from players for the first time while further developing the game.
The alpha version of Coral Island was released starting July 31, 2021. This early version of the game is only be available to certain people who have either backed the game on Kickstarter or BackerKit or signed up for the alpha in December 2020 via the Stairway Games Discord. Alpha access will expire after a set amount of time, and the game will only be available in English and Indonesian during alpha access. More languages will be added later during development of the full game.
Content in the alpha version is limited to the first season, Spring.
Early Access[]
Early Access will be a time when the game is still in relatively early development, but can be bought on PC at a discounted price by anyone. Early Access is to launch on October 11th, 2022 both on Steam and Microsoft Game Pass on PC. According to the Early Access roadmap, full release is tentatively aiming for Q4 of 2023.
